About John Falcone

John Falcone grew up in Western NY on a family grape and bean farm.  He started singing at a young age and was the lead character as a boy soprano in Gian-Carlo Menotti's Christmas time opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors."

John played the trumpet  growing up and took private lessons for several years under Mr. John Maguda.  Falcone played in several select groups, and was the first chair in the 1997 New York All-State Symphonic Band under Anthony Maiello.  John was a professional in the American Federation of Musicians.  He also played while attending Cornell University.

Learning on an out-of-tune upright piano in his Grandma Falcone's basement , he is a self-taught pianist.  He  performed a song he composed  for his wife on his wedding day.

Falcone is also a self-taught guitarist and composer.  He wrote his first song on the acoustic guitar in high school.  He picked up his first electric guitar while at Cornell University, where he was commonly found rocking out with his roommate Bernie.

His style is most influenced by his favorite band:  Metallica.  He also is heavily influenced by most every alternative and rock band that peaked in the 1990s.

During his time at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, he was the lead singer and frontman of a two-person rock duo:  Mercury Rising.  Along with his friend Josh , the two played several covers and original songs to their Pittsburgh fan base.

Falcone married his beautiful southern belle Trasey in 2010.  They  have three children:  Gianna, JD, and Rosemary.   They also  have two Bernedoodles:  Honey and Biscuit.

The family works and plays in Owensboro, KY.

John works at the local Owensboro Health Regional Hospital as a general, vascular, trauma, and cancer surgeon.  He is involved in surgical education.  He has been an author on over 50 manuscripts published in medical/surgical journals, and he has won local and national teaching awards for his work with medical students and residents.

While music is his favorite hobby, he also enjoys woodworking, playing/coaching ice hockey, fishing, and his not-so-secret love/fetish of Excel spreadsheets.

The Falcone 5 attend First Baptist Church.

John was baptized on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 at the ripe age of 38 by a close family friend.

He wholeheartedly hopes that you enjoy the music of the ministry!
